WHAT OF THE ERROR

What of the error; the umpire gave him “not out”,
Or perhaps given “out” from an appealing shout
There is still a game it continues though unfair,
But the course has changed annulling all repair.
Yet from the error all that flows has changed,
The river’s course has now been rearranged,
What will occur would not have occurred before,
A shot in error has changed the face of war.
One from two is one but if it’s wrong
Then the measure and beat is lost from the song,
New strings are plucked it does not sound the same;
The words are changed and thus so is the name.
Sorry, will satisfy some with selfish thought,
But not those who know that he was left distraught.
