WHAT CAN I SAY…?
What can I say when you my words resist,
That your beliefs appositively insist,
Except bid silence (as my thoughtful friend),
To greet your passions as they thus attend.
Were I less honest in writing what I do,
‘Twould be my pleasure to entertain your view,
But I’m not so narrow yet in current thought,
To accept as truth such a fine resort,
Thus must pursue what I do feel and see,
Dismissing that which is not revealed to me,
By those who say an absence here exists,
That all other thought is accordingly dismissed.
For what is true, lives not in the eyes of Priests,
But where deceit has in their hearts increased.
