WELL…

WELL Jesus was kind of swarthy,
Maybe a chocolate coloured brown,
And Cochise was not much different,
But she is white who wears the crown.
In Africa some are black folk,
In Australia they are black and bronze,
In China yellowish and golden,
Spanish Americans look like the Fonz.
Now the question I am asking,
Is when Adam was so made,
Was his skin as pink as Eves was,
Or was the dust of Eden made,
From multi-coloured all sorts,
Of seeds of different shades.

Or maybe Eve looked like a Maori,
Or perhaps like a delightful Zulu lass,
Maybe she was a catholic like the pope,
Made from a sheet of bulletproof glass.
The thing is when they got together,
Not that there is any proof that they did,
And the first child was born I’m asking
What was the colour of that poor kid.
Well was it black and blue to start with,
With a mix of white and maybe red,
With yellow and pink to follow,
And blond on one side of its head.
Was it a multi-coloured baby for a multi-coloured time,
When black and white and yellow will eventually rhyme.
