WE MUST LIE

We must lie; because the truth is not believed,
For being honest no gain is ere received,
And who would suffer to avoid the truthful lie,
Surely Sir not you; and certainly not I
So let us all pretend and fear the truth,
As we fear mystery providing us no proof,
Because we know such things can’t be denied,
Tis better that the first historian lied.
To sit and watch the game, the moves are clear,
Tis being wrong most players seem to fear.
And those who suffered in the shadow’s shade,
Are those same men who now their peers degrade.
For the poor are poor until they all get rich,
And toss their memories into a liar’s ditch
