UNIQUENESS

Competition provokes envy, resentment and pain,
Determining failure each time there is adequate gain.
It leads to more effort that rivalries sustain
Underlying degradations and clique cultures of fame.
Yet it is a measure of nature to determine the strong
Though it does not define a right from a wrong.
It ensures that man’s culture is not lost to the weak
And to those who would condemn it in order to seek
Power by destroying all rivals and foes
That only one river through their dominion flows.
Yet compare not yourself your work or your art,
For uniqueness is the asset that sets you apart.
For the virtues of kindness expressed truly in love
Gives peace to the Eagle and strength to the Dove.
