TIS ONLY ME

Tis only me who lives inside this head,
This changing me never quite the same,
As I was before these words were clearly said,
Though I haven’t changed a letter in my name.
It could not be that life would leave me stale,
Like a stagnant pool with no place to run,
I’ve done my best I have won and failed,
And I’ve become the result of what I’ve done.
Much of my life has been a search for me,
Among the confusion of a changing mind,
Where thoughts distorted what my eyes would see,
Yet who but I could I expect to find.
Now I enjoy all the thoughts I have,
For what I think no longer makes me blind.
