TIME IS ABSENT

Time is absent; we tread water then we drown,
There is only now, to smile or frown.
All the things our selfish desires assay
Live in this moment – this brief long day.
A unique beauty lives in the human race,
A spirit that links us all in grace,
Though some generations are not so sure,
Because they have not experienced being poor.
For being without, serves that within,
Teaching the soul that there’s no race to win.
The beginning is now, as is the end,
Which is something folk don’t comprehend.
For we cannot live life for tomorrow,
To retain the past is to live in sorrow.
