THROUGH YOUR EYES I SEE

Express not your fears of someone else,
As fears of mine and me,
For I am not a willing subject,
For through your eyes I plainly see.
Scorn not the words I utter,
When another person you berate
Your scorn just melts like butter,
For they are false the words you state.
If you cannot tell yourself the truth,
Then like me, you know you lie,
For you can’t hide the glowing proof
That occupies your eye…
And I know your cheeks are stained and wet
From the tears that you cry.
