THE RIGHT TO DECIDE

The right to decide – indelible in choice,
Creates obligation – responsible voice.
All that we do the words that we say,
Express our conclusions for which we must pay.
Scorn not your leaders as situations alter,
Stand by them in strength when tending to falter.
For the greatest of empires will surely implode,
When the cowboy destroys the horses he rode.
The sky may be cloudy but clouds always clear,
Because the sky remains blue beyond the veneer.
Change is the way the system works best,
For every gain there’s a new challenge to contest.
It matters not who the new leader might be,
So long as the choices remain honest and free.
