THE NATION’S ANTHEM

The national Anthem in our world,
Is ‘Advance Australia Fair’,
Decided by deceptive vote,
To ensure it was declared.
When it is played few will stand
And few the words do know,
And strangers they don’t understand
Why we waltz Matilda so.
The truth was that we could not base
Our future on a tramp;
He had a scarred and battered face
And a non-conforming camp.
So here we are all false and fair,
A bright and shining lamp.
