THE EAGLE AND THE OWL
Are we not mere servants, sir, of the better men,
Who have the power, to promote, what we might condemn?
Do we not know that vulgar words, never will achieve,
A single step, towards a change, to what we might believe?
What good is anger in our breasts, struggling to get out,
If we can’t defeat the shame, of our own basic doubt;
If we can’t surge, from the shackles, to be heard and seen,
Seeking with intelligence to procure our wondrous dream?
The lonely wolf howls all night but in daylight is never heard
Though it could be said the Eagle bows to the owl a wiser bird.
But the owl flies not beyond its cage, its shadowy domain,
While the Eagle perches on the peaks, fine feathers hued with fame.
Thus we the angry and forlorn might well want to be heard,
But obscenities aimed at leadership is really quite absurd.
