SOMEONE WAITS

You can take what is available and twist its meaning round,
So that when spoken in a different way it has a different sound.
Then you can brandish that which was a straw as a weapon stick,
Or use it like a stone to throw, or even like a brick!
And people who are quick to judge, or want to even a score,
Will give credence to its effect, to distort it even more.
There were no facts to begin with, but now the lie becomes the truth,
That the innocent is seen as guilty without a lick of proof.
Then people take their sides based on who they like the best,
And you have succeeded in your distortion you have finalized your quest.
For even when the confusion of the conflict comes to a halt,
The damage has been done that the innocent one is at fault.
It is a tried and true practice of the vicious and the sly
Who forget that someone waits for them after they all die.
