SOCIAL SLAVES
When your teachers fashioned in you their thoughts,
when that word “no”, denied all your retorts,
were you aware that all future words you’d say,
would echo their way as the only way?
Can you debate those thoughts in you prescribed
that form your faith for which your heroes died?
Can you doubt the program etched so deep in you,
doubt it enough to think it less than true?
As much as love can be likened to a rose,
then so can hate be fashioned with it’s pose;
and most who think they’re right don’t really know,
for they are servants of their cultures flow,
of biased thought and prejudiced beliefs and ways,
that moulds them into obedient social slaves.
