RESPONSE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

~ 1 ~

I cast not my bait in another’s pool
Who so subserves its purest taste.
For such would mark me as a fool
To write such words would be a waste
Debate is lost in biased thought
For none so caged can formulate
Beyond the doctrine that is taught
Beyond belief of future fate.
Peace is peace and war is war;
You can’t have one without the other.
As there is rich and there is poor,
There is no babe without a mother.
Without the sun there is no Earth,
And death is absent without birth.

~ 2 ~

Our thoughts can dwell on facts, or dwell
On things beyond the naked eye
That we can’t hear and we can’t smell.
That requires blind faith from you and I.
But what I see is true and real
No matter what a word may state.
Words do not from the image steal
Which stays the same despite debate.
Pain is pain, and love, a word,
Describes a hundred ways to feel
So many meanings, it’s absurd.
To fit a boat with such a keel
Therefore, that which we cannot see,
Will never let two folk agree

~ 3 ~

Each to his own his mind a cell
Maintains the thoughts instilled within
Determines heaven, determines hell
According to accepted sin.
We all from different realms do come;
Along different trails do walk.
Some worship every day the sun,|
Some simply like to talk.
Whatever way we choose to go
We know death is the end.
Beyond the grave we do not know
What fate to comprehend.
For though we hope that God awaits
We wishfully portend
