RELEVANT TO THE MOMENT
I have lived just like any animal has done
By fluke of birth being born to be me,
By chance having travelled and shared with some
My moments of sorrow and moments of glee.
Yet I live alone in this body of mine
Influenced by the thoughts as they are given to me,
Acting upon impulse according to time,
That keeps me imprisoned till death sets me free.
I could suffer a lot more than I have it’s true
I could have gone this way or that driven by choice,
I could have met with another and never known you,
Changed the direction of others with action and voice.
But nothing is altered by anything we do,
It’s all relevant to the moment; if it’s not me then it’s you.
