PERCEPTIONS
Ill perceived bubbles and haloes
Are concepts of the envious mind,
Of people without a pin to prick them,
Lest their own bubble is declined.
We can’t look through the eyes of another,
Another’s thoughts we cannot describe,
Though from their words we often discover,
What we ourselves in our minds do hide.
All things that remain unchallenged,
Become deceptive and corrupted by time,
Believing that a thing is well managed,
Without challenge is almost a crime;
And the truth is the truth regardless,
Of weather it’s your truth, another’s, or mine.
All my verse was once written and kept,
In my own mind without a will to succeed,
None knew if it was good or inept,
For it was not written for others to read.
I have not changed the way that I write,
I don’t care if someone reads it or not,
It is never written in anger or spite,
Nor subjected to plan nor to plot.
I simply write what comes into my mind,
With an openness any reader can see,
Be it vulgar or quite ill defined,
It does not matter if you do not agree.
So challenge my verse if you like,
But I’ll be ruthless if you’re challenging me.
I do not judge nor define what you are,
That is something you do for yourself,
I don’t care if you are a King or a Czar,
Nor how many trophies you have on your shelf.
I have no wish to be right or wrong,
I have no ambition to be better than you,
While I live to myself I belong,
And I’ll do what in life I must do.
People argue because they think they are right,
I don’t care if they are right or know,
In debate they turn on the light,
More of themselves they intelligently show.
As for me, there is nothing I hide,
And I’m no different where ever I go.
What I have said and I repeat here again,
If one has the openness to state clear his view,
He will be urged from it to refrain,
Lest it change the thinking of a particular few.
Some will acknowledge his point and mute,
They will not seek to challenge the scribe,
Though the concept of the words they refute,
May well inspire a view from their side.
But always someone to the bait ascending
Will defend what they claim to be true,
Though no truth ever needed defending
From their insecurity doubts do accrue;
Often reacting with words condescending,
To establish their own point of view.
