MOMENTS

The echo of your steps you hear behind,
But when you stop they’ll have gone away,
You may go back but what will you find,
There’s nothing there; only yesterday.
You may find tracks, imprints of your feet,
You can watch them fade as time takes its cost,
Then from your past, you cannot retreat,
All your future moments you’ll have lost.
Then spend not time in time no longer time,
For it is the step you’re taking now that is,
It is every day a new sun’s rays that shine,
And living yesterday is to tomorrow miss:
For yesterday is tomorrow’s past,
For the moment as a moment cannot last.
