MAN AND WIFE
She did not lose her essence wedding me,
Yet she increased the value of herself,
For she is whom she is alive and free,
Who shares her love for the equal wealth.
I do not rant supreme, the raging bull,
Nor does my Queen hold over me her charm,
Though loving lives are never ever dull,
Along separate roads we walk arm in arm.
There is no master yet a man of strength,
Who for his wife if so required would die,
Nor is there less a lady whom at length,
Would force her way with treachery and lie;
For all good men should know their role is love,
As would his wife describe to God above.
