MAN
Man is a predator; he is all of life’s foe,
He is to be feared everywhere he might go.
He cannot be trusted for he is unto himself,
Resorting to slaughter to preserve his own health.
He destroys his own kind in murder called war,
Creates his own God to forgive and make law.
He tramples down grasses, digs gold from the fields,
For his greed knows no bounds when all is revealed.
He is hungry for power and develops political skill;
That which he can’t persuade he’s likely to kill.
He can be gentle and kind loving and fair,
If it’s in his own interests he might even share:
A beast with a brain overdeveloped and unsure,
A defective machine that seeks to be pure.
