JUST YOU AND I

Throw no stone lest you see it land,
For then your arm deceives your hand,
And when you see the damage done,
You will from that place quickly run.
Curb your tongue lest it despise
What you can’t see with your own eyes,
For assumption lacks by its own act,
The truthful word known as fact.
Were all to think as you and I,
Then all our verses soon would die,
And who so raised a different view,
Would in us no more thoughts accrue,
For we’d dismiss them as a lie,
For we’d be right just you and I.
