I COULD WISH

I could wish for peace,
But that will never be,
Or that the permanent blind
Impossibly could see,
I could wish the hungry
Had food enough to eat,
And that the hurt and lonely
Had better than the street.
I could wish for many things
That will not come true,
Like wishing that there’s happiness
In everything you do.
So I do not wish for anything,
But the truth is I love you.
