HUMAN RIGHTS

I was once arrested because I had no money,
For in the fifties, being poor was a crime
They called it vagrancy with a three-month sentence
I didn’t go to gaol, thank God, that time
You were not then allowed to be different
And being different is still frowned on today
All I had back then was malnutrition
Now I have a lot more words to say
Say what you have to say and say it loud
Make certain everyone around can here
Stand up tall stand there strong and proud
Don’t give a shit for those who stand and leer
And if some mongrel objects to your graces
Kick him in a million @#$% places
