HOW DO YOU KNOW
What thought do you have that is your own,
One that has been conceived in you alone,
Not one that tutors forced into your mind,
But one that you created and defined?
Do you have thoughts of God that you’d term
Thoughts unique that from others you did not learn
That when you speak so confident and glib,
You are certain that your words are not a fib?
How do you know that what you say is right,
Lest what you say was focused in your sight?
‘Tis always hearsay, that opinion states,
And second hand when to another’s thought relates.
For all you do is emulate a myth,
That your moral code is someone else’s pith
