FROM THE DARK SIDE
(The Sequel)

~ 1 ~

I do like throwing stones, into the sacred pool
For one thing is for sure, it won’t be God that I fool,
Or those worthy Christians who understand my rhyme,
Knowing that this preacher, preaches truth in every line.
If you have anger in your heart, then you had better read again,
And pray to your God to deliver you from guilty pain,
Or maybe you can do better, and practice what you preach,
For no one who is needy, is very far from your reach.
You will have noted that your faith, which you think is good and true,
Is a selfish faith at best, designed for only you.
You will know that you’re not worthy, to be in heaven with your God,
That you have much more to do, before you plod of to the sod.
And if you’re feeling smug, as the self righteous often do,
Then I shall do your praying, that your God is kind to you.

Those who do not know me, may take offence at this,
But a fence is often needed, around the edge of an abyss
for if you have never questioned self, then what you think you know,
may not be what you think it is , or it may still be so.
Because if you think you are different, that it is the fault of all the rest,
Who are responsible for Earth’s troubles, that they’ve not done their best,
Then the God you think you worship, is going to nail up your flue,
That you choke on all the required deeds, that you have failed to do.
So instead of trying to impress folk , of how much you love the Lord,
Try just to function quietly , without seeking Gods reward,
By humbly helping people giving of your heart and soul,
And maybe dipping in your pockets, without sewing up the hole.
And you do not have to thank me, for all this charity I have shown,
For I have many obligations that I share with God alone.

But my God may not be yours and yours may not be mine,
You see I keep it personal I don’t push it down the line,
I don’t need the support of others who happen to think the same,
And I do not seek reprisals and I do not seek to blame.
You can believe what e’er you want to it matters not to me,
But don’t force it down my throat every time I disagree,
For then I seek to measure the depth of what you say,
And mostly all that righteousness is promptly blown away.
Because belief is like opinion; used when there’s lack of fact,
So let us not claim knowledge when such knowledge we all lack.
In order to promote one above others who are sane
Because argument and division is all that will remain.
God bless you all for reading this different point of view,
And I hope that you acknowledge that much of it is true.

But some will select their phrases; those suited for reply,
And will not make much mention of those they’ve caused to die.
They will respond defending simple things, like what they believe,
But never what their religious cults have failed to achieve
They will ignore the destruction, the killing, and the gore,
That their treasures come from pillaging, other countries in war.
Their childhood dreaming will remain as they were taught,
All else just did not happen for it fits not in their report.
For most read not their bibles thus seldom have it right,
For none go off to heaven as they seem to think they might,
For indeed it is a sanctuary born of hope and fear,
That perhaps on judgment day will be made very clear.
But these words no doubt will raise sweet feelings in you all,
As you defend by doubt, what you can’t defend at all
