FORGIVENESS

Acceptance overwhelms forgiveness,
For it issues out no blame,
While forgiveness is for the guilty,
For things they can’t explain.
I accept the way the world is,
For it is the world in which I live,
And though I work to change it,
I see nothing to forgive.
Forgiving is a way of doing nothing,
Because it is simply a word,
That to suggest it changes something,
Is quite obviously absurd.
You cannot change passed history,
Nor what has not yet occurred.
