FOREVER IS…

When the Earth farewells the light when day at end
Disguises itself in the coming night’s dark shade
It is as one who loves who’s lost a friend
Where from his sight his image quickly fades
Is heaven like this that on the coming morn?
All those we knew remain as yesterday
Or is our further life a brand new dawn
Where those we knew we meet not ere again?
We do not know therefore we fear to die
For what is heaven to me if you’re not there?
In living life we’re together you and I
Do we in heaven lose this love we share?
We know one thing that when we die we’ll part
Yet mystery clouds the joining of our hearts.
