DARK VERSE

Tis dark that which some see as lacking light,
Yet thoughts reflect much better in the night,
That seeing not through eyes made falsely bright,
Better discern those wrongs oft clothed as rights.
Yes they condemn words which might stain their page,
Make light of it which stirs their inner rage,
Or yet by silence hope that it might pass,
Lost in the falseness of a purer mass.
To wear a gown of black among the white,
Will never be in biased thinking right,
But will remind the righteous of their doubt,
Lest they do humbly state belief without,
A knowledge of the realness of themselves,
Wherein somewhere a sacred spirit dwells.
