CRITICS
Do we not acknowledge dictatorial rule,
When we call another man a fool,
For making statements we don’t condone,
That do not tally with our own.
We may know in our hearts what’s right,
And sorrow for another’s plight,
Yet often that which seems so cruel,
Is but a critics favourite tool,
To raise him to a dubious fame,
For most you know seek private gain.
A critic promotes but tears and hate,
That turns folk from the friendly gate,
And causes in good hearts the pain,
Which slandered nations can’t restrain.
