CONFORMISM
When we assimilate the values of society,
Conforming to the way things are,
We oft counterfeit what we think is the truth,
In that myth becomes the popular star.
We are a convocation of righteous thinkers,
Yet none of those thoughts are our own,
We are work horses wearing myths blinkers,
Pretenders for a false image we clone.
Wherefrom do we derive our passions,
To reach out with unbridled desires,
Ignoring the establishment of fashions,
To fuel our creative fires?
Most people by coercion are mindful,
But are unknowingly perpetual liars!
