BELIEF IS NOT A TRUTH

Belief is not a truth for there are no facts;
And God is a state of mind that is taught.
A tranquil song a tranquil mass attracts,
People die without a battle being fought.
Peace on earth was never meant to be,
Struggle is the harsh essence of true life.
Some look but in looking fail to see,
That we’d all die if peacefulness was rife.
Life is a constant battle for all living kind,
We struggle against the elements to live,
But in the end tis only death we find,
So there is no guarantee that we can give.
Though it’s nice to think that a heaven waits,
I see only darkness as I pass through the gates.
