BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER

~ 1 ~

Incognizant of the deception against which he could not defend
He turned his face towards what he failed to comprehend
And rashly made a statement that he could not then withdraw,
Thus encountering a concept that so often leads to war.
The rigmarole that followed somewhat confusing at best,
Left him in a quandary that he lost sight of his quest.
Now to advise one of their failings is a tentative step,
For none like to discover that their methods are inept…
Thus will deny their lack of aptitude by twisting borrowed words,
Into further foolish statements which is fodder for the birds
That the point is lost forever mid the frenzy of denial
Though some wisdom is discovered from the actuated guile.
Yet some walk a repetitive pathway for the entirety of their days,
Never deviating from the errors of their never changing ways.

They occupy small islands where the castles they have built,
From the many chapels of self worship sink slowly in the silt
They try to calculate a program written for each possible event,
With a word or two to change before each letter out is sent.
The personal emotion is missing because it is a copied script,
Deliberately deceptive for by self interest they are gripped
Because their image is so false when challenged they respond,
With horror, shock and anger, making ripples on their pond.
Yet the more they raise their drawbridge the shallower is the moat
And the mixing of their statements clog the rhetoric in their throat
It is always better to be honest; just be who you are,
For everyone has a weakness, every person has a scar.
And if you think you are fooling the old dogs with such talk,
You will soon be brought to task because BS doesn’t work!

The choices are to run away, or stand and state your case,
For you can’t for long ignore the grin on your neighbour’s face,
So given time they all return to where they know they can,
A place where people can relate where there is no social ban.
Where understanding makes its way to the surface given time,
And you can have a second go if at first you failed to shine.
Tolerance is a foolish word for to tolerate is to blame,
Forgiveness is another word for it indicates much the same.
For often those forgiving are no better folk themselves,
And tolerance is forgiving in which accusation dwells.
To recognize a difference without becoming emotionally perturbed
Is to say the least a virtue into which we are better lured
So be kind to one another by just saying what you think,
Because animosity and argument are just a waste of pen and ink.

You can ignore me at your leisure; but I will not go away,
Until I have written down all the things that I have to say
You will read it all; I know that; you cannot help yourself
So I hope you learn some lessons about a true commonwealth.
About yourself there is something you obviously do not know,
You “be kind to one another” is a boomerang not a bow.
So until you understand it try to close the other eye,
For then both will not be open so you can’t patronize the lie
For if you are only seeing half the view tis best you do not see at all,
And it is not so far when you trip to where you will fall.
Ah look it is November and the ending of the Spring,
The summer months are wrapping their arms ‘round everything,
And I bid you good morning, or good night, it is for me,
For this life is sure worth living, and I think you might agree.
