A ROSE IS NOT A ROSE
Must I guard my tongue being in disagreement,
That all you say is right and I am wrong,
Because your head is filled with taught agreement
For yet to some false order you belong.
Who are you then to express precise opinion,
As something true despite a lack of fact,
You have a hollow soapbox on which to stand on
And a programmed mind with thoughts you can’t retract.
You may not still be part of a congregation,
But it only requires the childhood years to form.
A lifelong view from a religious education,
That it becomes imbedded as the social norm.
Retain your faith but preach it not as truthful,
For a Rose is not a Rose without a thorn.
