A FAIR DINKUM MAN
Be loyal to yourself and to your friends
(no man is true who lies and pretends);
be humble yet stand firm upon your feet,
have compassion in victory, grace in defeat.
Meet your foe and fight him without hate;
salute his death ere be death his fate.
Harm not a woman whom your mother was,
nor a child for children always trust
the smile upon the lips of your hard face
or cringe from the scowl that brings disgrace.
Just be a man; proud and dignified
who can always say truthfully that he tried
to be a model for his kin and clan;
strong of mind;, of heart – a fair dinkum man.
