AN OBSTINATE BROLLY

Let us having done it not scorn our own abuse,
In mocking those who yet seek it to use,
Nor gloat our way as fools, through wisdom's folly,
Pushing down a drainpipe up, an obstinate brolly
Allow them the freedom to achieve or fail,
Let their floundering ships reach full sail.
None yet in their youth have their elderly brain,
Knowledge unattended they cannot attain.
Thus spare them the time with courage and pride
For it is them in the end who must decide.
With physical diastasis the child is born,
Yet the inner connection is never outworn,
And though we are eager to leave the nest,
Tis there we return to take our rest.
