A YEARNING
Where is that place for which I long,
That lives in my heart and souls soft song;
That place of beauty; that place of rest,
That place where peace can manifest.
Tis all a dream of calming thoughts,
Yet still I yearn for such resorts,
As though there is a place that waits,
While time and trial sweet life abates.
Look then at things that are not there,
And build a dream that we can share,
A place of love; of peaceful scene,
Where we before have never been.
Ah! Wondrous would our culture be,
Where all who live were truly free.
