The giant must strike or become an elf,
For the sake of all; for the sake of self.
For power will end if the world can’t see,
What it is that keeps the great Giant free.
The Tiger growls and the Lion roars,
The great Bull bellows and the Eagle soars,
But unless they sometimes make a kill
They can’t their purpose ever fulfil.
For giants as giants, giants must be,
Though the world may not sometimes agree.
So the flags will fly over foreign soil,
Where peaceful waters will begin to boil,
Until the giant cleans the soiled throne,
And limps with dignity back to his home.
