Well you can certainly see it missing,
the ear or arm or leg,
But what isn’t there can’t hurt you,
except inside your head,
Because it’s not the limb disabled,
nor the missing hand,
But the action that did cause it,
that folk don’t understand.
For that which is invisible,
If visible, is known,
But when things are not apparent,
Then pain is never shown.
For that which can’t be seen,
remains hidden and unknown.
