MOST SOLDIERS

Awarded: May 13, 2004Most soldiers are not photographed,
as they do their job,
So their children never see them,
killing while we sob.
They are not filmed destroying,
the enemy with fire,
As they fight for survival,
in jungle and in Mire;
As they battle dust and heat waves,
in the desert waste,
Where they maim and slaughter soldiers,
in their desperate tortured haste.
And when they return to freedom,
They say naught of what they faced.
