LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN

They all seek to praise the soldier,
As it is fashionable to do.
But we veterans who are older,
Know their sentiments are few.
When we see our brothers cared for,
Who went away to fight,
To sacrifice their lives in war
Thinking it was right.
Then maybe we will join them,
Give them credit where it’s due,
For we fought for gracious majesty,
And for truth that’s overdue,
As our soldiers now are fighting,
For what they think is true.
