IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE CHILDREN DIE
It does not matter that the children die,
Few will see them, fewer will ask why.
Who they were and what they would have been,
Will not be known nor will the tragic scene,
Be remembered as dead soldiers are,
Who left the pain, who left the lasting scar,
Upon the generation that were lost.
The price of freedom is a heavy cost.
No it does not matter that the children die,
Beyond our memory they all quietly pass
While monuments to Warriors spear the sky,
While blood dries on the new mowed grass
All casualties of someone else’s dream,
Who never hear the slaughtered children scream.
