William N. Janes, Sr

Oh woe of woes upon me
The General does decry
“I made the wrong decision
And many soldiers died.”

And so in war, and business,
Decisions come and go
The Generals work with numbers
As troops do clearly know.

The troops that fight the battles
And die on foreign shores
Are merely pawns to Generals
Who treat them all as whores.

Oh sure, the battle’s worthy
And some must bear the pain
Yet Generals gain the victory
And praise for that campaign.

But when the battle’s finished
With corpses on the field,
The Honor of the battle lies
With the troops who would not yield.
