SILVER LININGS

If every cloud has a silver lining
then somewhere the sun must be shining
all sorrow should be declining
without more need to continue repining

I’ll take a look for the silver hue
to see if I can at last find what is my due
is there to be found something new
when I gaze longingly in the skies of blue

As foreboding clouds of darkness form
I wonder if I can brave the coming storm
Do I accept what is become the norm
or believe in the silver reflections of reform

Shall I then bask in the sun’s silver glow
leaving behind all I once did know
Breaking forth like the winds that blow
stepping forward on paths I do not know?
