THE FIRST KISS
The First Kiss… nothing is sweeter than this!
O what sublime bliss
Twilight before the dawning of true passion
Victorious before even love’s conception
Hearts all aglow with sweet intoxication.
Thoughts of love so tender and so new
Fill places where rushing feelings accrue
Captured in a moment’s enthusiasm
Pulses racing uncontrollably in throbbing spasm
Two hearts leaping into love’s great chasm.
Two hearts beat as one in elusive love’s first union
A stolen act bursts fleeting done
Snuck breathless through abiding tension
Showing in innocence reflection
Suddenly struck by loves new direction.
That first kiss enrapturing
Excitement sparks the stilled heart palpitating
Reality for one grand moment breathtaking
Firing unused feelings awakening,
The first kiss stimulating.
A first kiss is weighed and measured in perpetuity
By every future kiss evaluated for eternity
Remembering emotions that over the naive pour
Making illusory memories live forevermore
In the heart judgments for all time lie in store.
