DOING WHAT’S RIGHT
What is the wrong way and the right,
in this mortal foils plight?
What path should I follow,
that will pleasingly put my heart aglow?
On one side stands our Father God,
proffering the Iron Rod,
guiding sons and daughters lovingly His way,
along a righteous path that eternal dividends pay.
The Iron Rod leads full circle back to God
away from pathways flawed
guiding along His holy chain to righteousness
where we seek inner holiness
Our Fathers love a divine caress.
He makes but one divine request
as he has loved us, so make this love bequest
receiving the gift of His loving, so Father God love,
and love one another with the light from above,
for His namesake,
His loving pass on to our fellow man make.
On the other side stands the Father’s adversary Satan,
whose slick, oily tongue,
plies mankind with the easy way,
the tempting way of the tempestuous glutton.
Satan’s way promises silver and gold,
riches of the world untold,
with the admonition to unruly throng,
“Live for today, for tomorrow you die.”
Father God is love,
offering the peace of the dove.
Satan is hate,
offering a fiery fate.
Should I God fear
or brother Satan revere?
Should I live pure till life’s judgment day,
or with wine,
worldly merriments play?
The decision I face
flows between pure life good
and licentious lace,
where many souls hide
under free agency’s scarlet hood.
God asks us to love him,
and love our fellow man.
Satan says to love no one,
do unto others what you can.
You can have wanton joys of pleasure,
seeking worlds temporary treasure,
temporal joys immoral,
and loud boasting promiscuously strew,
the righteous way spitefully eschew.
Or search for God in His mystery heavens
seeking eternally Celestial havens
from whence eternal blessings imbue,
persevering till the end,
avoiding snares mortal cravens pursue,
Father God will bestow on the faithful elect,
heavenly bounties so rich you’ll not be able to select.
So then choose the right,
battle for freedom in spirit and might.
Let the Father’s eternal wisdom mark the way before,
and the Father will bless you ever more,
against Satan’s power,
an upside down tower,
and look ye forth till a brighter tomorrow,
where there will be no more sorrow,
for God will protect you,
come hell or high water He will protect you,
That he would not makes reason stare…
then have courage,
to do what is right dare.
Walk uprightly against the flow of the unruly mob
who when they receive their eternal reward
will eternally sob
with great gnashing of teeth
and tearing of hair
would that they could
your divine inheritance rob.
As for me and my house,
with spirit we hereby espouse,
singing praises with holy accord,
for we shall serve the Lord.
