Charles J. Ingerson: I Sob

I SOB

Tears streaming
body so racked
lost from dreaming
truth so attacked.

Speaking softly
treasure of heaven
explaining gently
truth with leaven.

To those I love
extending a diamond
given from above
spiritual the kingdom.

I sob uncontrolled
nights extend soaked
my spirit un-consoled
my messages revoked.

Whispers in stillness
hidden by the rock
or worse in silliness
all feelings to block.

I sob inadequate
so much to be taught
but now I sadly quake
justice and mercy sought.
