I DIDN'T GET TO SAY...

What are words
what flees at night
what are swords
what sees fright?

What is forgotten
what is unknown
what is misbegotten
what is not shown?

How oft would I
instead kept quiet
instead to cry
my mind a riot.

But see I know
this is not so
for I did show
and you did grow.

There were no sounds
not spoken in life
no unfertile grounds
amid life's strife.

You've heard the voice
you've read the print
in paintings to rejoice
with no rose tint.

We talked of forever
we talked of Father
we talked not clever
we talked of another.

We talked of right
we talked of wrong
we talked of light
we talked to belong.

We talked of all
we talked in love
we talked to call
we talked to above.

I loved you so much
I loved you to know
I loved you to touch
I loved you to grow.

There is a tomorrow
there is a forever place
there is righteous power
there is Heavenly grace.

There is forever families
there is a sealing power
there is Celestial eternities
there is a lovely flower.

There is our Savior
there is our covenant
there is our behavior
there is his commandment.

We are to love one another
we are to love like one
we are to love a sister/brother
we are to love till one.

There is a Prophet to hear
there is a message true
there is Revelator, Seer
there is reverence due.

There is a right choice
to be forever obedient
there is a quiet voice
to a forever covenant.

There is not earthly doubt
there is not earthly power
there is not earthly clout
to destroy Father's tomorrow.

I didn't get to say nothing
I've said all this and more
I didn't forget anything
I've unlocked ever door.

Families are forever my child
families are the only reason
families are when time is wild
families are in every season.

This is what Satan hope's
I didn't get to say today
snarled in his awful ropes
forgetting to daily pray.

But this is not the case
I've led you to the water
then baptized you safe
and been your arbitrator.

What words not to believe
what sounds came unclear
what did you not receive
what is it that you fear?

What need we rehearse
what do you find so hard
what scripture or verse
what door left to guard?

There are none to see
there is only our love
there is the tempest sea
there is light from above.

So now I will let all know
that my love extends time
no space where I can't go
for you to know the line.

For I am a parent found
whose searched the maze
glistened with every sound
till clearing away the haze.

I didn't get to say I love you
enough but I still will say
it over and over for 'tis true
this Sabbath Day I pray.

Author’s Note: Hi all - I'm sharing this with you, but I've let my children know it was written for them. I love them so much, this is important because often we don't say it enough. But more importantly it is what we do and teach within this love. I hope that this is true, that I've taught my children and all of those in my life correct principles, loving understandings of the eternities and Heavenly Father and the Savior; that there is no doubt in anyone of my testimony of the family being eternal, and the only reason (for it is the reason to be worthy), for mortal life. We've been sent here to return to Heavenly Father, and to take our families with us. Father's, Mother's, Sister's, Brother's, Aunt's, Uncle's, Cousin's, Niece's, Grandparent's, everyone, all (no exclusions), but that there is an agency which allows all their individual choices. I've explained this as being the right to be obedient to the commandments of God. He has said, "If you love me, keep my Commandments." When one goes against the commandments of God, they willingly have chosen to forfeit agency; because depending on the violation they will lose trust, honor, freedom (jail), or even their eternal life. There is no other way for agency is a gift and part of the plan of salvation. It is only the adversary that wants you to surrender this valuable gift in his woven lies of deceit to beguile even the elect. I love you all, but most I love my family, my God and my country. Chuck
