FINDING MORE
Awakening this day
finding more to see
in wonder to pray
even more to be.
A freshness in the air
alerting my senses
as a small chill there
and all fear cleanses.
Such a wonderful day
children to laugh and sing
wish this Spirit would stay
hearing the bells ring.
Maybe only a moment
time to meld with space
with a joyful comment
and a kindness to grace.
Christmas but once a year
how oft I've tried for more
and how many shed a tear
behind a darkened door?
So on this day everywhere
I say to one and too all
Merry Christmas to share
and all year round to call.
Finding more to now share
delighting young and old
this feeling so very fair
yet strong enough to hold
