The dregs of a bitter cup
all that some find upon to sup
Given to the profane call
forsaking a gift to all
Hallowed nothing of worth
even a small child’s birth
Perishing for food or rest
unwilling to take life’s test
Dregs of a bitter cup taste
amid worldly want and waste
