A CONTRITE HEART

In love matchless
anywhere known
so very breathless
a sacrifice shown.

Going where I
would be unable
never to ask why
in a world unstable

With a contrite heart
humbled to understand
the Savior did his part
that I’d be free to stand.

No temptation is found
from evil or totally alone
which I cannot confound
when I remember home.

I do not tremble in fright
at the adversary I find
or the darkness of night
if in service I am kind.

In obedience of Father
covenanting to my honor
there is nothing to bother
my love for the Savior.

A contrite heart willing
a humble heart giving
evil to be now stilling
helping all in living

This the eternal plan
knowing peace divine
knowing that I can
in this life forever define
