SERGEANT CHRISTOPHER BRIFFETT

Above anything so many see a natural lead:
His presence effective, this indeed.

For when he speaks, soldiers turn to hear,
With respect from the troops, not from fear.

Through peacetime war, he has held his own,
And negative to our country he will not condone.

Over time we have asked for his advice,
Listening each time, he never thinks twice.

Then he makes a difference, like it or not,
For integrity, the greatest gift, that a soldier’s got.

Members speak highly, young and old,
So why more often has he not been told?

He is a leader of the, grandest kind,
But yet again, he is left behind.

No longer now, must they refuse to see,
A chief in our military, he has to be.

Author’s Note: Sgt Chris Briffett is someone for whom I have great admiration and respect. The reasons are defined by all that the Canadian Military stands for. What puzzles me is, with his keen sense of leadership, why is it he remains at the rank of Sgt? It is my belief other gain as he continues to wear the Canadian uniform and my hope for him is “Opportunity”

Sgt Briffett has, can and will always be a source of honour to so many soldiers Land, Air and Sea. For when it comes to his country he chooses at the proper time to give so effortlessly. I like so many have learned so much from him for our Country.

Thank-you Sgt Briffett, you have and will always have from we juniors, the respect you deserve.
